The Role of Quality Engineer
The Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is a professional who understands the
principles of product and service quality evaluation and control.
Certification from ASQ is considered a mark of quality excellence in many
industries, especially in automobile, aerospace, pharmaceutical and food field
industries. It helps you advance your career and boosts your organization’s bottom
line through your mastery of quality skills.
Becoming certified as a Quality Engineer confirms your commitment to quality and
the positive impact it will have on your current or future organization.
Education and/or Experience Requirement
You must have eight years of on-the job experience in one or more of the areas of the Certified Quality Engineer Body of Knowledge.
If you have completed a degree from a college, university, or technical school with accreditation accepted by ASQ, part of the eight-year experience requirement will be waived, as follows (only one of
these waivers may be claimed):
- Diploma from a technical or trade school–one year will be waived.
- Associate’s degree–two years waived.
- Bachelor’s degree–four years waived.
- Master’s or doctorate–five years waived

Worked in manufacturing companies in automobile tier 2 companies as quality engineer, quality manage, supplier quality manager and in tier 1 aerospace industry as quality engineer from between 2015 and 2022.
Broad knowledge and practical skill of manufacturing process control and continuous improvement.
Familiar with Quality Management System standards of ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO 16969.
